Directions from New Orleans to Carter Plantation

Travel West on I-10 towards Baton Rouge.
Travel North on I-55 towards Hammond.
Do NOT take the first Ponchatoula exit.
Take Exit 26 Ponchatoula/Springfield. (Total distance from I-55 to Carter Plantation is approximately 7 miles.)
Use the second exit ramp for Springfield.
Merge onto Highway 22 traveling West.
Continue traveling on Highway 22 into the town of Springfield (5.3 miles).
Turn left at the red light located in the center of Springfield.
Go two blocks and turn right onto State Road 1038, also known as Carter Cemetery Road, which is next to the First Baptist Church.
Travel 1.5 miles. Carter Plantation is located at the end of Carter Cemetery Road. There are signs directing you to The Pavilion and the Carter House (Discovery Center and Real Estate Sales Office).
